29 - The Grill At The Square Review

  • Rating Disappointed (Rating 2/5)
Choice was rather poor on the pre- theatre menu. I chose the salmon starter and had to pay an extra £2. The Yorkshire pudding with beef main course was a soggy congealed lump of stew with sessional vegetables that were so over cooked I couldn't taste what they were. Potatoes didn't come with this dish, so had to order a side dish at an extra cost of £3.99. The stew was so salty I couldn't eat it. The knife was so sticky, that had to be replaced. The iced tap water was lovely and constantly topped up, which was good. When we complained, there was an apology for the salty stew. We were offered a free drink, pudding or a coffee, which we refused because we're were meeting friends for coffee and birthday cake. Happy birthday me. We won't be back and will not be recommending this restaurant to family or friends.
