29 - The Grill At The Square Review

  • Rating 2 FOR 29 MENU (Rating 2.6/5)
I have eaten at 29 many times, and have opted for the "2 for 29" a few times. I chose the 2 for 29 again last night, which has now changed from a bottle of wine to a glass of wine and they now charge you for bread although I should not have been charged as the bread was complimentary as I had booked on the 5pm site. The waitress said she would check this out, which she did and we got our bread. Starters were fine, but what a let down for the mains. I made the mistake of choosing the pork belly. The plate arrived - a small square of the pork belly, 2 small pieces of carrot, a small dish of watery apple "sauce", and a tablespoon of cabbage. The pork belly was just fat, what a let down. I was hungry when I got home and had to have something to eat which I NEVER do after eating out. I really do not think that I will go back to eat at 29, which used to be one of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow.
