Aga Mezze Palace City Centre, Glasgow

Mediterranean, Turkish

14 reviews

With a warm, colourful and traditional Turkish decor, diners are made to feel very welcome at Aga Mezze Palace on Glasgow's Dundas Street. Just in case the name and decor have not made their point, then the belly dancers - available on request - should leave diners in no doubt that they are in a Turkish restaurant. In fact, the owner opened what may well have been Scotland's first Turkish restaurant in 1981.

Blackfriars Merchant City, Glasgow

Gastro Pub

5 reviews

Since 1995, Blackfriars has been giving Merchant City real ale fans plenty to smile about. With twelve beer taps - five real ales, many Scottish - alongside some 40 bottled beers from all over the world, there is plenty of choice. It is not hard to see why Blackfriars has won CAMRA’s Glasgow Pub Of The Year twice. The basement venue hosts regular club nights with DJs and bands playing the hippest music from the 1950’s onwards. If many of Blackfriars neighbours are style bars, this is more of an honest to goodness pub.

Windows Restaurant, Carlton George - Afternoon tea.

The location is clean and staff were ok. Our afternoon tea stand arrived with a selection of sandwiches, 2 scones and variety of cakes, including a custard and biscuit dessert. The location is central and you are on the top floor of the Carlton. The view is over the rooftops of Glasgow.

    Lovely Greek Food

We went to Halloumi as we had recently been to Athens and were missing the Greek cuisine. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The mezze style menu was really good to try lots of dishes and is great for sharing. Having been previously disappointed by other Greek restaurants in Glasgow, Halloumi was a welcome change.

    Excellent Restaurant!

The food at Cafe Andaluz is simply superb. We had a table for 4, which meant there were 10 different tapas dishes in front of us, a huge variety which we all had a share of. Staff are very attentive and efficient, no complaints there. To sum up, we will definitely be back.
