Vibrant, buzzing, and evolving at a dizzying pace, Glasgow City Centre restaurants are a microcosm of Scotland's largest city itself. Famous for its stunning Victorian architecture and its roguish humour, Glasgow has its finger firmly pressed on the pulse with new places to eat popping up on a regular basis, from stylish bistros to funky street food joints.
Glasgow is well known for its curries, having won the Curry Capital of Britain more than any other city in the UK, but you'll find a number of cuisines in the Glasgow's restaurants, including Italian, Scottish, Russian and Mongolian.

Shilling Brewing Co. is a brewpub on West George Street in Glasgow city centre. Once a bank, the bar sits in an imposing and airy space with high ceilings, massive windows, a marble bar and a striking mural of a unicorn rampant dominating one wall. As well as an ever changing selection of guest beers - there are 27 draft taps - Shilling Brewing Co. also makes its own core range of beers on the premises. Weekly brewery tours, tap takeovers and tasting flights of beer make this place a beer-lover's paradise.

With its exposed brick, neon signs and metal work, Pizza Punks looks as edgy and urban as the name suggests. While the decor is all about the rebel yell at this St Vincent Street venue, the welcome is warm, informal and attentive. Creative cocktails, craft beers, wine and frizzante on tap, milkshakes and a wide variety of soft drinks mean that customers will never go thirsty.

With a warm, colourful and traditional Turkish decor, diners are made to feel very welcome at Aga Mezze Palace on Glasgow's Dundas Street. Just in case the name and decor have not made their point, then the belly dancers - available on request - should leave diners in no doubt that they are in a Turkish restaurant. In fact, the owner opened what may well have been Scotland's first Turkish restaurant in 1981.

Since 1995, Blackfriars has been giving Merchant City real ale fans plenty to smile about. With twelve beer taps - five real ales, many Scottish - alongside some 40 bottled beers from all over the world, there is plenty of choice. It is not hard to see why Blackfriars has won CAMRA’s Glasgow Pub Of The Year twice. The basement venue hosts regular club nights with DJs and bands playing the hippest music from the 1950’s onwards. If many of Blackfriars neighbours are style bars, this is more of an honest to goodness pub.
