Citation Taverne & Restaurant is housed within the landmark former Sheriff Court building on Wilson Street, in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City. Outdoor terraces allow alfresco dining in the summer months. The restaurant’s Portico, nestled among the building’s Corinthian-style, exterior columns, is one of Glasgow’s most impressive dining locations. Citation is the ideal location for a romantic meal, a night out with friends or a long and lazy lunch. Those who want to carry on socialising long after their meal can head to the ground floor bar.
Citation’s kitchen team create seasonal menus using the best produce from Scotland, the rest of the UK and further afield. Dishes on the a la carte menu include Tweed Valley lamb cutlets; fillet of West Coast sea trout; honey and truffle-glazed belly of Ayrshire pork and the battered catch of the day with handcut chips and mushy peas. The menu also has a grill section which features sirloin, fillet and flat iron steaks alongside Surf ‘n’ Turf plus Citation’s Chateaubriand for two. The dessert selection has options such as the lemon and raspberry posset, chocolate tart, Bailey’s parfait or you could share a cheese board accompanied by a glass of port.
Citation is on Wilson Street in Glasgow’s Merchant City. There is limited on-street parking nearby and pay parking facilities on Glassford Street. Central and Queen Street rail stations are a ten minute stroll. The Gallery of Modern Art, Old Fruitmarket and Princes Square are all within easy walking distance.
