The hotel is a super venue in an amazing location overlooking the bay. The Bistro has been decorated in a very attractive fashion. It is light and airy with high ceilings. However, yet again we were disappointed with the choice on the fixed price menu. It would be better if the Hotel du Vin chain had a choice of two courses ie a main and either a starter or dessert which were of a higher standard. The service, presentation and quality of the food is better at Edinburgh, which was an unwelcome surprise. Our starters and desserts were acceptable but the Camemburger mains with French fries were unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. To compete in the ever-improving dining arena of Fife the Bistro needs to up its performance!
