Excellent value for money with a delicious savoury plateful of pastries and small rolls followed by delicious cakes and candy floss. I requested a table by the window for my mother's 87th birthday and they reserved this for us and it was beautifully set and we had a fabulous afternoon in this lovely Bistro.

    Superb Sunday Lunch

First time at this branch as I live in Edinburgh. Great service and careful attention to detail of our gluten free requirements by the lady in charge of dining room. The market table was especially delicious and plenty of choice in wonderful desserts. Our guests greatly enjoyed the meal too. Only slight snag in the whole visit was that the roast potatoes needed more cooking.

    Relaxing lunch

Hotel du Vin Bistro in St Andrews is our favourite Bistro in The East Neuk. A good menu to suit any persons palate. The food is freshly prepared. Staff are friendly and go the extra mile; you never get the feeling of a rushed service.

    Sunday lunch deal

This was our third visit. First being absolutely fabulous the second was the opposite so thought we'd give it a third try. The deal was 4 courses & a glass of prosecco. The waiting staff were friendly although we did have to ask for our prosecco & they questioned the deal. After showing what I had kept on my phone it was fine but I hate having to ask, it's so embarrassing. They have too many different deals going on at the same time & lose track so we were told. We chose not to have the first course of soup it being so warm outside. The market buffet table was nice with lots of nice bits & pieces such as pickles, salami's, fish & seafood. The pate was amazing & lots of nice artisan breads. The mains were nice enough although my roast dinner was not very hot & the roast potatoes were not very roasted. Carrots & gravy were however the best. My hubbie chose a smoked haddock omelette [Arnold Bennet] which he said was lovely, no sides came with it. I had profiteroles for dessert with warm chocolate sauce & my hubbie had crème Brule both were lovely. They had run out of prosecco so I was given champagne instead which was a lovely alternative. For us once again it lacked in atmosphere & at times was quite empty which did not help. Overall not a bad meal but not the best for the star rating the Hotel Du Vin have. Not quite up to the standard of the Glasgow one. Not sure we'll give it a fourth visit.
