About Charwood
Neighbourhood restaurant, grill and bar
Based on Buckstone Terrace in Edinburgh’s Fairmilehead, Charwood is a restaurant, char grill and lounge bar which acts as a community hub and events space for the local area. The interior is spacious, bright and colourful. An award-winning, family-friendly venue, it has a weekly pub quiz, kids’ club and also shows sports in the lounge bar.
Dry aged steak, classic bar dishes and pizza
From eggs Benedict at breakfast to steak dinners cooked in the Josper grill, Charwood believes in serving good, simple, locally sourced food. As well as the 35-day, dry aged steaks, they offer a range of burgers and classic main courses such as the steak and ale pie, battered East Coast haddock and macaroni cheese. For something a little more exotic, you might want to try the Thai green curry or the butternut squash, pear and gorgonzola tart.
Cooked in a wood-burning pizza oven, the pizza are freshly made, hand-stretched and cooked to order. Finish off with a dessert like the sticky toffee pudding or one of the house sundaes made with Di Rollo of Musselburgh ice cream. We like the look of the Highland Fling – Scottish tablet ice cream, vanilla ice cream, fudge pieces, honey sauce and fresh whipped cream.
