Stylish Indian dining in New Waverley

Ronaq is right in the heart of Edinburgh’s stunning New Waverley development in the Old Town. Situated just yards from the Royal Mile, this striking glass-fronted restaurant offers innovative Indian cuisine with a focus on presentation.

There is a ground-level bar leading upstairs to a first-floor dining area, with floor to ceiling glass panels offering views across the Waverley Valley. The menu serves the best of contemporary and traditional Asian cuisine, offering dishes from across the Indian sub-continent.

Ronaq would be ideal for a romantic date, night out with friends or family before the theatre, or even a business dinner.

Contemporary Indian cuisine

Whether you’d like to try authentic Punjabi home cooking, Kashmiri cuisine or Bangladeshi specialities, there is plenty to sample at Ronaq.

Menus can change, but starters might include well-loved classics like lamb tikka, chicken pakora and meat samosa. Mains include favourites such as rogan josh, korma and bhuna, plus more unusual dishes. Bindi gosht (tender pieces of Scottish lamb cooked with ochra), machli balti (haddock with green peppers and spices) and the Ronaq Special (chicken, lamb, prawns, mushrooms and lentils), are all notable menu inclusions.

Vegetarians can enjoy specialities such as dhaal makhni (lentils, cream, spices and herbs), paneer kharahi (Indian cheese with onions, peppers and coriander) and sabzi balti (vegetables tossed in rice with a special blend of spices).

Tapas lunches are also available offering a range of South Asian small plate items.
