About Vinyasa
Indian dining in Old Town
Vinyasa is a family-run restaurant on St. Mary’s Street specialising in freshly prepared Indian cuisine and fish dishes. The vibrant contemporary interior was recently described by Cool Guide as ‘a glitzy, colourful Indian restaurant as if from a Bollywood version of Mumbai’, creating a relaxed vibe for an evening meal. The ever-changing, three-course daytime menu also makes it a great choice for a working lunch.
Firm favourites and signature dishes
Vinyasa serves a selection of Indian and South Asian classics alongside chef’s specials. Menus can change, but signature dishes include the Vinyasa Special Murgh, a barbecued half spring chicken cooked off the bone in a delicate sauce; the silsyla lamb in chef’s herbs and spices dressed with honey in a smooth buttery sauce, and the Bombay salmon pan-fried in a medium curry sauce.
Served alongside these are favourites such as tikka masalas, baltis, jalfrezis, kashmiris and bhunas, as well as tandoori specialities.
Old Town transport links and attractions
Vinyasa is handily placed for city centre attractions and just a six minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley station. Nearby paid parking can be found at the nearby NCP at Viewcraig Gardens. The restaurant is also less than a ten minute walk from the Festival Theatre.
