    Highly recommended

We went for Father’s Day 2 adults and 2 kids. We turned up early and this was no problem. The food was great and we all decided we will be back again soon.

US-style bar and eatery in central Edinburgh

Don’t look for a haircut at the Whistle Stop Barber Shop on South Bridge, but kick-ass cocktails, classic American cuisine and playful banter are all on offer at this inviting bar and diner. Cinematic American touches distinguish the playful décor, with its scissor motifs, barber’s chairs and comfortable retro-style booths and banquettes. It’s the ideal spot for a little daytime laptop surfing or a relaxed post-work cocktail and meal. They even let you bring your hound.

All-American favourites

The menu is packed with appealing American classics, with a wide selection of chunky burgers, hipster hot dogs, salads, pizza and, on the grill section, a variety of steaks and ribs. Chicken wings, nachos and sides such as Cajun corn and buffalo chicken tenders will plug any remaining gaps in the appetite. Naturally, you can order your fries straight up or load them with toppings such as poutine or a beer, cheese and bacon combo.

Available from noon to 5pm, Monday to Friday, the Feed Me For A Fiver lunch is always a big hit.
