About The Tron

Welcoming Old Town pub

A multi-level bar with many a cubby hole, The Tron bar has long been popular with sports fans, students, regulars and visitors to the city. All the major sporting events are shown at this Hunter Square pub while more hands-on sportsmen and women can create their own drama on the pool table. During the Fringe, the downstairs room operates as a busy comedy venue.

Pizza, burgers and more

Serving from breakfast through to dinner, the extensive food menus at The Tron range from simple tapas to roast dinners. There are wraps, toasties and salads for lighter appetites and a range of steaks, stacked burgers and barbecued meats for the hungry. Add in stone-baked pizza plus pub grub favourites such as ale-battered cod and chips and The Tron covers most bases. Naturally, the menu is very flexible. You could a simple sausage and egg bap for breakfast or sit down for a starter of chicken wings followed by a steak and Guinness pie with cherry pie to finish.

Old Town transport and attractions

The Tron is on Hunter Square in the lee of the Tron kirk. There is limited on-street parking. Waverley train station is a five minute walk and several major bus routes run up and down the adjacent Bridges. From the castle to the Festival Theatre, The Tron is well located for many of Edinburgh’s biggest attractions.
