I booked the Hotel du Vin Mother's Day menu at £29.99 for 4 courses with fizz (including a "treat for mum") for myself, my mum and my auntie. When we arrived I was not offered a glass of fizz for my £29.99. Only mum and auntie. The glass of fizz they had was a third full and tasted like cheap prosecco. Presumably they had to share one glass between them. We had just had champagne cocktails at £10 a pop so we could tell the fizz was of bad quality. The food was good but far too much and not of good quality. Smaller, better quality potions would have been better. The service was great though, very attentive staff. The "treat for mum" only extended to one person, despite us paying £10 more each for the usual brunch menu, for which you get the same menu minus the measly glass of fizz for £19.99 instead. We would not have all bought the Mother's Day menu had we known this and were not told by the staff that the other mum wouldn't get a treat. All in all, a bit of a rip off really. Read the small print before you book as I felt like a bit of a fool and now would not go back. It's a very expensive place and feel it is not good quality for your money.
