Continental café bar on Causewayside
Occupying a totally revamped space, Damm 27 is a café bar offering all-day casual and contemporary European dining. Exposed stonework, leather banquette seating and a soft amber glow all create a vibe that is cosy, chic and rustic in equal parts. A late night licence and DJs at the weekend keep things buzzing.
European brunches, small plates and mains
You can pop into Damm 27 for relaxed yet sophisticated breakfasts, brunches, lunches and dinners, as well as a coffee or cocktail.
Brunch choices include croque monsieur; eggs benedict; waffles with pear and chocolate sauce, and a full cooked breakfast.
The evening menu includes a small plate selection, sample choices being the baby squid tempura served with soy, ginger & honey dip or the rare sliced onglet steak with chimichurri sauce. Veggies and vegans have plenty to choose from as well, including delectable truffle polenta cubes.
Main courses include a range of mussel pots, such as the Normandy with dry cider, apples, mustard, cream & fresh herbs. Or why not opt for a burger themed around different European flavours? These include The Napoleon, a Gallic delight with a made-from-scratch beef patty, roquefort & bone marrow butter, bacon and truffle mayo.
Causewayside attractions
Damm 27 is within walking distance of The Meadows, Summerhall and the University of Edinburgh. Holyrood Park and Prestonfield Golf Club are also close by. Pay parking can be found on nearby St. Leonard’s Street.
