Where to start? Brewhemia is a Czech beer palace, kitchen, Italian caffè and Prosecco bar spread over several spectacular spaces. The Market Street venue opens for breakfast and pretty much offers all things to everybody until late at night. The ‘brew’ of Brewhemia might mark the venue out as bloke-friendly. And it is. But it also appeals to couples, families and groups of women. With regular live entertainment, DJs, a novelty photo booth, tank beer, cocktails and Champagne plus a selection of spaces that run from a sleek Boudoir to the Beer Palace, Brewhemia has a space for all people and all occasions.
Scottish beef, Arran cheddar and haggis are just some of the many Scottish ingredients used by the kitchen at Brewhemia. While the chefs fly the flag for local produce, they like to use it in dishes from around the globe. The extensive menu at Brewhemia ranges from full Scottish breakfasts and eggs Florentine to bratwurst, chicken schnitzel and butternut spring rolls. There are burgers, salads and seafood options such as mussels steamed in Thistle Cross cider. The most eye-catching dish is almost certainly the Scottish fillet and sirloin steaks cooked on hot lava rocks at the table.
Brewhemia is on Market Street right next to Waverley train station in Edinburgh city centre. There is limited on-street parking and a pay car park by the station. The Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street Gardens are all within easy walking distance.
