Nice wee bar
I have been to The Westroom several times. It is a very nice wee bar with nice food. It is an ideal place to go to catch up with people.

Relaxed West End British restaurant
The Westroom is a laid-back cafe bar on Melville Place in Edinburgh’s West End. It is a good looking place that puts a contemporary twist on traditional elements of decor. Think along the lines of outsized lampshades, stripped brick walls and quirky stags’ heads. Large windows looking out onto the West End streets make it great for day time people watching. After work drinks, hearty breakfasts, brunches, lunches and best of British dinners are more strings in The Westroom’s bow.
Local produce, British food with a twist
The menus at The Westroom have a focus on much loved British favourites, sometimes with a modern flourish. Menus change regularly but typical starters or snack-sized bites might be the Scotch egg with HP sauce, crispy brie with chilli jam or the salt and pepper squid with a citrus mayo.
A steak pie with creamy mash is one of the more hearty mains alongside the rump steak, garlicky chicken Kiev or the cheeseburger. A seafood section offers a smoky haddock fishcake with poached egg and Hollandaise sauce; mussels with skinny chips and a classic Cullen skink with baker’s bread. Naturally, sticky toffee pudding and Eton mess rhubarb often feature among the desserts.
What they all have in common is that they use locally sourced, high quality ingredients and are cooked fresh to order.
