Restaurant Mark Greenaway Review

  • Rating Good food but small portions (Rating 3/5)
We had the special lunch menu which was good value at £17 with matching wines a further £13. My started of hake was lovely but there were only 4 small cubes of fish it just seemed a very meger portion the min was better indeed I would say the ratio of lamb to veg was a bit unbalanced as I would have preferred less lamb and more of the lovely crispy kale. Wines were lovely however I would have liked to have been told the name of the wine rather than where it was from and how it would taste, red wine from northern Spain which is rich and smokey was how it was described. The route to the toilets could also be doing with upgrading, threadbare carpet is not a good look. Other tables were on the a la carte and we saw some interesting dishes being served. Missed not having a little pre starter with only bread offered. With the competition across the road offering such things this place needs to seriously sort it's self out. to make me want to go back.
