Grand Cru Review

  • Rating Rating 3.8/5
Grand Cru was excellent value and the staff extremely helpful and efficient. As it was a rugby night the place was heaving but we had a table tucked away towards the back which we appreciated. All the seating for diners looked cosy.especially the booths. Not an enormous choice and 2 of the 4 puddings were off with only 1 replaced. I think the chefs took a few liberties with the wording of the menu eg the foccacia was in fact a bun,the gratin potatoes were just plain boiled.the cherry tomatoes sauce with the chicken was in reality tinned tomatoes. We ordered a bottle of the shiraz we'd had as part of the offer and were surprised to be charged a hefty £14.50. Nevertheless these are minor criticisms and we enjoyed the meal overall. If we go back we'd probably choose midweek to avoid the crowds of drinkers
