About Casa Mara
Rustic Spanish dining in New Town
Casa Mara is the vision of Spanish-born chef, Mara, who trained at a top Edinburgh restaurant before opening her own place inspired by her mum’s cooking. Promising a menu that will bring a taste of Barcelona and Catalonia to the capital, Casa Mara offers a lunchtime menu of the day, an a la carte selection and various sharing dishes. This colourful dining spot with is rustic crockery and flowers would be great for a chilled out meal with friends.
Casual Catalonian cuisine
Dishes at Casa Mara are crafted to showcase the chef’s favourite Spanish flavours. Although menus can change, expect starters such as the mussels with peppers, onions, almonds and parsley, the pork empanada with tomato sauce and the potato tortilla.
Typical mains might include the monkfish, prawns and garlic with a hint of chilli, the chicken casserole with cinnamon, nutmeg, prunes and brandy or, for veggies, the quiche filled with aubergine, courgette and asparagus.
Or you could opt to share an arroços, a paella style dish for two people with vegetable, chicken and seafood options.
