Cafe St Honore Review

  • Rating A bit disappointed (Rating 3.6/5)
I have been to the restaurant before and really enjoyed it, however, this time though the food was very good it wasn't great. That may be because we were limited to the classic menu, but I don't think that should have made a difference. We both ordered the duck leg for our main which was substantial, but I found the preparation with peppers, lentils and vinegar somewhat uninspired. The wine which came with the dinner was very good as was the soup (carrot and coriander) and the pudding (creme fraiche mousse). My husband had the cheese and oatcakes and found the cheese bland. The real disappointment was the service. Although the wait staff was pleasant, we had to wait a considerable time between our starter and main and even more between our main and pudding. Granted, it is festival time and this may have contributed to the problem. Still, a bit disappointing.
