    Top Tapas

Staff friendy and efficient. Good atmosphere. Food plentiful, tasty and hot. The only thing I'd have liked was more space between the tables. Love the Glasgow city centre restaurant too. We will definitely be back.

    Never lets us down

We love Cafe Andaluz, the atmosphere is always relaxed and service is always efficient. The tapas were very tasty as always and we even tried a couple of new things from the updated menu. It was very busy for a Tuesday night but that just added to the atmosphere and we never felt rushed. Highly recommended!

Spanish tapas restaurant on George Street

The George Street branch of Cafe Andaluz is the largest in this family of three Spanish tapas restaurants and the first in Edinburgh. With an interior that looks like it has been airlifted in from Andalucia – terracotta pots, Moorish hanging lamps and intricately carved wooden furniture – you get the impression that you could be dining in a bodega rather than Edinburgh’s city centre.

Wide selection of freshly prepared tapas

The restaurant has a wide selection of tapas but the common thread is that they are all made from fresh ingredients and prepared on the premises. As ever with tapas, one of the best things about the Cafe Andaluz menu is that it can please numerous people whatever their preferences.

Creative vegetarian dishes like the sliced mushrooms with garlic, truffle oil and smoked Tetilla cheese on croutons nestle alongside seafood dishes such as the crisp, fried baby squid or the classic gambas pil pil: hot, roast prawns with olive oil, fresh chillies and garlic. Carnivorous eaters might prefer the spicy chorizo sausage sautéed with sweet red onions in red wine or the lamb chops scented with rosemary, thyme and garlic.

Close to Waverley station

Café Andaluz is a ten minute walk from Waverley train station and close to the tram plus several bus routes. The shopping opportunities of George Street and Harvey Nicks are on the doorstep.
