My "go to" place
I love Asti. I've been going for years and it never disappoints. I've eaten from the offer menu as well as the a la carte. The food is amazing value for money and super delicious. Staff are more than helpful, very smiley and welcoming. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Friendly neighbourhood Italian on Broughton Street
Asti is a casual Italian restaurant and cafe on Edinburgh’s ever lively Broughton Street. Open from morning to night, it serves coffee and cakes, lunch, after work drinks and evening meals. A bustling cafe space out front leads through to a slightly quieter dining room which looks out over leafy gardens.
Classic Italian trattoria dishes
Visitors to the nearby Playhouse make the most of the hearty pre-theatre menus at Asti while local workers keep the lunch menu trade rolling along. Good pasta, gnocchi and risotto dishes are at the heart of both menus. The a la carte adds in classic dishes like the saltimbocca, calamari, mussels in white wine and sirloin steaks with a variety of sauces. The antipasti platter is a popular starter as are the aubergine fritters with tomato sauce, mozzarella and Parmesan.
Completing the line-up are interesting daily specials, generous desserts and gorgeous fish dishes like the roast fillet of cod with a Parmesan crust, Puy lentils, pancetta and sauté potatoes.
