    Lovely meal

We had a lovely 3 course lunch at the Edinburgh restaurant. Soups are so tasty and VERY generous portions. Mains were delicious, with my cod fillet being perfectly cooked. I couldn't make up my mind about the basil mash, though. Cheese board and semi-freddo both fantastic. Great staff and a lovely atmosphere. Not our first visit and definitely won't be our last.

Italian restaurant on Edinburgh’s George Street

From its central location on the corner of George Street and St Andrews Square, the Italian restaurant and bar Amarone is the ideal venue for a business lunch, romantic meal, dinner with friends or after work drinks.

Decorated in the style of a contemporary Milanese pizzeria, the restaurant serves a range of Italian dishes as well as Italian wines, including Prosecco, and a cocktail list with a distinct Italian flavour.

Italian food made with local ingredients

Traditional Italian classics are the speciality of Amarone and pizza and pasta lovers are spoiled for choice. The restaurant also serves a range of fish, meat and salads; all created using the freshest local ingredients.

Popular dishes include petto d’anatra all’ Amarone: pan seared duck breast served pink with Amarone wine sauce, braised Savoy cabbage, pancetta and confit of figs or the fritto misto: a selection of fresh Scottish fish and shellfish dressed in a light batter, deep fried and served with hand cut chips. Diners can finish their meal with a drink from the extensive liqueurs menu which includes limoncello, Frangelico and Bailey’s.

Close to Waverley

Only a five minute walk from Waverley train station, Amarone’s central location makes it an ideal dining spot during a day out in Edinburgh. Many of the national galleries are within a ten minute walk and both Harvey Nicks and the temptations of George Street are on the door step. Taxis, buses and trams are abundant. Parking is limited.
