    Excellent food at Elliot's

My wife went with her friend with the offer being 3 courses for 2 and a bottle of wine all for £40. What a bargain. They even managed to squeeze in a cocktail before their meal and so were unable to take advantage of the dessert menu. Staff attentive, efficient and friendly.

    A mixed first experience

We went for lunch on a Friday and on walking in, were immediately impressed by the decor and ambience. This seemed new and I liked the style - very airy and clean. I liked the quirky courtyard area. I also loved the glassware - I had a glass of prosecco as part of my lunch deal which was served in a lovely glass. My partner had the burger which was tasty and enjoyable. However, my chicken and chorizo pasta was not nice at all. I didn't complain, but was honest with the waiter when he asked - the chorizo didn't taste like any chorizo I have ever had ( I was a bit worried it was off) and the sauce was bland. He did offer to replace it but this doesn't help when the other person would have finished their main before I would have started. It would have been better to perhaps be offered a coffee to make up for this. The chocolate and peanut butter tart for dessert was delicious though, and very rich, so at least I didn't go away hungry! Doesn't make me super eager to go back but would probably give it another go to be fair.
