    Hidden Gem

I had no idea that this hotel and restaurant was there until i passed by recently, so i was intrigued to try it when i saw it was on 5pm. It was very quiet - only 3 or 4 other diners, so the atmosphere was a bit lacking. However the food and service made up for it. Plenty of choice on the menu - we both had the lamb which was lovely - really good service and a free glass of wine included. All for £18.50, which was great value. I would definitely recommend it - particularly if you're going to the Playhouse as it is nearby. We will go back.

    Disappointing.

Not quite sure what the Lantern Room wants to be! We were seated in a small area with tables dressed to look like a smart restaurant. However, there was a large screen telly on in the wall(not what you want when you are out for a nice meal) and the food was, at best, reasonable pub grub! (2inch long straight prawns in batter.....a wedge of dry brisket!) The Mac and Cheese was good and my dining companion enjoyed the fish dish. Dont think i'll go back as better pub grub available anywhere on Leith Walk.

    Another lovely meal.

Second visit to Cadiz, but with a different group of people. Everyone enjoyed the food and the wine. Introduced 2 of them to whitebait and they both enjoyed it. Everyone said they would definitely go back. My sister in law even bought a meal voucher for someone's birthday.

    All good!

Loved the gin fizz cocktails! Sea-bass lovely, gnocchi not a favourite, sticky toffee pudding a big hit. Our only complaint was the chairs -sorry guys, although they gave us cushions to make them more comfortable.
