I and a friend had afternoon tea here on a Saturday afternoon and it was... alright. To be fair, the hotel was obviously the venue for a wedding that afternoon, so we overlooked the being overlooked by the staff who were presumably busy. They were all perfectly friendly when the did remember us though.
Again, the food was ... alright. We weren't offered a choice of drinks (coffee wasn't offered and only one type of tea) and portion sizes were um, mean. One scone between two, really? Even if the jam and cream were nice, surely the kitchen could run to two scones?
But then, it was a cheap deal, maybe customers paying full price would get the full deal.
