I booked the festive lunch for 3 people in the Terrace restaurant. Despite confirming the booking with the hotel, our party arrived to find that the restaurant was closed for renovation. The concierge then informed us that we would be served in the bar. Not good but we went along with it. The barman initially ignored us & then pointed us in the direction of the 'out of commission' Terrace Restaurant! Needless to say the restaurant was deserted & did not appear to be in use. We then returned to reception. Reception staff were unaware of the lunch menu & all members of the management team were 'in a meeting'. To cut a very sorry story short we were eventually accommodated in the club lounge, the festive menu located & we had a nice, if rushed, time. The only people who were any credit to the organisation were a new employee who sorted out the whole mess and the kitchen staff. The food was tasty & well presented. Had time permitted we would have gone somewhere else. The management team, who were strangely conspicuous by their absence, have absolutely no idea about team work, customer care or communication. Very disappointed.
