About Terrace Restaurant - Crowne Plaza
Enjoyable dinning experience, ideal for pre-theatre
Great meal, great value, great service, lacked a bit of atmosphere as it was not busy but would recommend and will go back.
Great wee surprise
A lovely place for dinner, pleasantly surprised as this was such a good deal we didn’t know what to expect. Good was lovely and plentiful and the wine offered as part of the deal was delicious. Definitely recommend and would return again next time I visit Edinburgh.
Contemporary Scottish restaurant on sweeping Georgian street
Part of the Crowne Plaza Edinburgh – Royal Terrace, The Terrace Restaurant is on Royal Terrace – one of Edinburgh’s finest Georgian streets. The restaurant is located on the ground floor and opens out onto the hotel’s beautiful, private, terraced gardens. Many guests enjoy pre-dinner drinks in the garden and, if the weather is kind, some even dine in the gardens. Inside the restaurant, the decor is smart and contemporary.
Popular for pre-theatre dinners
Located just around the corner from The Playhouse Theatre, the Terrace Restaurant is the ideal choice for an early dinner before your show. The catch of the day, coated in a crisp batter made with the local Innis & Gunn beer, is hard to resist. The grilled halloumi and vegetable skewers with tzatziki is another popular choice from the pre-theatre selection.
The dishes change with the seasons but some of the sure fire favourites stay on the menu for every season. Offering a choice of rib-eyes, gammon, chicken supreme, beer-marinated pork shoulder and an Aberdeen Angus beef burger, the grill section is always a hit.
The indulgent desserts include a velvety strawberry cheesecake, a selection of Scottish cheeses and a classic Scottish cranachan served with Famous Grouse whisky marinated berries and shortbread.
