About Peacock Alley - Waldorf Astoria
Lovely venue, good food nice atmosphere
5-star hotel lounge in Central Edinburgh
Based in the landmark Waldorf Astoria hotel, Peacock Alley is a genteel, Manhattan-style lounge serving breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails. In fact, it is formerly the Caledonian station concourse and the historic railway clock is still a feature of the space. Decorated in soft creams and browns with stone columns and marble floors, this is a restful, elegant spot for a catch-up with friends.
High-end afternoon tea selection
Afternoon tea at Peacock Alley is a very polished affair. As well as fine loose leaf tea or speciality coffee, you will begin with a selection of sandwiches and savouries. This might include crispy duck, rocket, cucumber & coriander wrap; chickpea & feta wrap; avocado, tomato & mozzarella finger; tuna, red pepper & goats’ cheese finger; smoked salmon & prawn Marie Rose finger, and bitter chocolate, blue cheese & asparagus tart.
You will also be served freshly baked scones (plain for traditional types and triple chocolate for cocoa-holics) accompanied by clotted cream and homemade jam. Sweet treats are artistically presented, and might feature dainty delights like redcurrant macaron; white chocolate & coconut blondie; blueberry baked cheesecake; raspberry meringue tart, trio of chocolate dome, and strawberry choux.
Want to make your afternoon tea extra special? Then you can also add on refreshing cocktails or fizz.
