    Great place for Afternoon Tea

Staff couldn't do enough for us - lovely table looking out to Princes Street. Not rushed. Would really recommend it.

Great service and food. We were there for lunch. Due to train delay we were late, but the staff were great about it. Look forward to going back.

Traditional restaurant in central Edinburgh

Situated in the Old Waverley Hotel, Cranston’s restaurant offers truly memorable meals. Set in a graceful dining room with high ceilings, elegant
crown moulding and the best views of Princes Street in Edinburgh, Cranston’s offers fresh, local Scottish fayre for breakfast, lunch and
dinner. Please join Cranston’s at their table, where the Victorian ambience is as comforting and cosy as the cuisine.

Traditional Scottish dishes in Edinburgh city centre

Scottish ingredients and traditional Scottish dishes are to the fore in the menus at Cranston’s. A typical starter might be the chicken liver pate served with woodland mushrooms while the char grilled sirloin steak is popular among the main courses. While Scottish smoked salmon or sticky toffee pudding fly the flag for UK culinary traditions, there are other influences on the menu. Look out for dishes such as chilli and garlic prawns; the chef’s penne pasta and the tiramisu.

Central Edinburgh attractions

Located on Princes Street, opposite The Scott Monument, Cranston’s is right in the heart of Edinburgh. It is on the tram route and a very large proportion of the city’s bus routes. Waverley train station is a five minute walk and taxis are plentiful. Car parking is limited. Nearby attractions include Princes Street Gardens, several galleries and the shopping opportunities of George Street and Mulberry Walk.
