    Great staff and tasty food

Staff couldn't be nicer. Really good sized portions. Quality of food was excellent. No Heineken or Birra Moretti on tap but Craft Lager was very good. Discount applied to bill after we said we booked through 5pm. Would definitely go back.

    Would definitely go back.

Food was so tasty, I loved the bone marrow gravy poured over my chicken. My partner and I were pleasantly surprised by this little hidden basement bar/eatery I wish I couldve eaten a dessert but 2 courses and I was full. Our waitress was lovely, helpful and very attentive. We will definately go back, we'd love to try more from the menu.

American diner in Edinburgh city centre

Cock & Bull Kitchen is a basement bar and dining space that started life as a pop-up in Bourbon bar and club on Edinburgh’s Frederick Street. Now a permanent fixture, this casual venue offers a cleverly curated modern take on the American diner. Themed decor, booth seating and jukebox vibes add to the atmosphere. While part of the nightclub, Cock & Bull Kitchen is separated from the dance floors and feels like a stand-alone venture.

Southern-style recipes

From slow, braised, Kentucky-style lamb stew to a variety of southern fried chicken burgers, Cock & Bull takes it culinary cues from the southern states of America. The menu is a meat-lover’s delight with dishes like the ox cheeks in a rich Louisiana-style chilli sauce. On the other hand, there are plenty of veggie and vegan options such as the no cock and bull vegan stew. A staff favourite is the cock ‘n’ waffles: southern fried chicken breast on a buttered waffle with ‘slaw and a side of bone marrow gravy.

City centre attractions and travel

Cock & Bull Kitchen is housed in Bourbon bar and club on Edinburgh’s Frederick Street, right in the centre of Edinburgh. From the major shopping streets to attractions like the National Portrait Gallery of Scotland, many of the city’s major attractions are within easy walking distance. The tram line and multiple bus routes can be found on nearby Princes Street. Waverley train station is a ten minute walk. There is restricted on-street parking.
