Sorry, The Sutherland at Cringletie doesn't currently have online booking on 5pm :(
The proud holder of three AA Rosettes, The Sutherland Restaurant is part of Cringletie House, a Scottish Baronial castle set in 28 acres of grounds. It is a spectacular dining room with a magnificent fireplace, hand painted ceiling and stunning views of the rolling countryside. A separate bar and lounge offer an extensive range of whiskies, cocktails and other drinks.
Open for lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and Sunday lunch, The Sutherland Restaurant uses local Borders produce to produce French-inspired dishes. The menus change with the seasons but typical starters might be the duck liver parfait or the crab and crayfish bisque laced with brandy. The Scottish sourcing is evident in main courses like the prime fillet of Inverurie beef served with creamed woodland mushrooms and a veal half glaze or the roast loin of Perthshire lamb with a rosemary and garlic mousseline, gastronome potatoes and wilted spinach.
Part of Cringletie House, The Sutherland Restaurant sits in its own grounds by the Edinburgh Road to Peebles and is around a 30 minute drive from the capital. Located just two miles from the market town of Peebles, the hotel is handy for attractions such as the mountain bike trails of Glentress; Borders walks and interesting sights such as Traquair House, Kailzie Gardens and Rosslyn Chapel. The hotel has ample on-site parking and helicopter landing is available on the lawn.
