    A very lively place!

Friday evening, and the place was packed and buzzing, with several large tables including a 21st birthday next to us, and a couple of groups really letting their hair down. Although we could hardly hear ourselves think, the food made up for that! I enjoyed an old favourite: a Dhansak - not had one in years! It wasn't bland, it had a wee bit of a kick, and I took some home in a doggy bag. My husband, who likes hot dishes, had one of Mr Singh's specials.

    Great steak choices

We went for a special occasion on the £40-for-2 deal. The shared 16oz rump steak was beautifully cooked and presented. For starters one of us had pigeon breast with quail's egg and ham, and the other had aged beef mulligatawny - and we loved both. Definitely a find - I hope to go back.

    Great food, good portions

Really enjoyed the food, although it's mostly deep fried, especially the small plates. The chicken and waffles was great, love the thin waffles, really delicious. The pineapple fries were awesome too. One of our friends is coeliac though and gets really ill if she eats gluten. She'd checked out the menu in advance and it seemed to have loads of coeliac options but when we arrived it turned out none of them were, even though they were marked as gluten free. Our waitress had to go back and forth from the kitchen about 5 times checking stuff and the rest of our food started coming out while our friend sat hungry. Our waitress was lovely and didn't charge us for the food my friend ate but I don't think she'll be back. I'll go back though, I really enjoyed the food.
