Good food
Lamb and chicken were tasty.Chips good and chunky.Chicken caesar salad could have been in a bowl and another dressing would have been better.

Welcoming hotel in Rutherglen
The Burnside Hotel is a welcoming venue on Rutherglen’s East Kilbride Road. As well as comfortable lounge and bar areas, it has outside seating for those warm summer days. As suitable for a quiet meal for two as it is for large group celebrations, the hotel offers several menus designed to appeal for all sorts of occasions. Regular live music, quiz nights and live sport keep the bars buzzing.
Traditional and international dishes
From afternoon tea to Sunday lunches via the pre-theatre and bistro menus, The Burnside Hotel has something for everyone. As well as a good selection of Burnie burgers, there are traditional options such as the steak pie, beer-battered haddock, haggis and chicken Balmoral. Other dishes – such as the stir-fry beef, pastas and Chinese style curries – draw their inspiration from further away.
Sharing platters, like the chilli beef nachos, are always popular, as are the lunchtime soup and sandwich options.
The range of desserts is very enticing. Who could possibly decide between the Scottish tablet sundae and the Belgian white chocolate ice cream?
