Situated at the junction of several transport routes, Tyndrum is ideally located for exploring Scotland. Muthu Royal Hotel is just a few minutes walk from the village’s two train stations: Tyndrum Lower Station, which takes trains west to Oban, and Tyndrum Upper Station, which goes north to Fort William. Tyndrum’s main road divides just north of the village, with one road heading west towards Oban and the other north to towards the Highlands.

Tyndrum is also situated directly on the West Highland Way and is a popular stopping point for walkers. Keen hikers and munro baggers who stay at the hotel can complete some of the walk or tackle Ben Lui, a nearby munro.

History buffs will enjoy learning about the role Tyndrum played in Scottish history; the village is built over the site of the Battle of Dalrigh where Clan MacDougall defeated Robert the Bruce’s army. So you will have plenty to explore during your stay.
