Mar Hall is a 5 star hotel, golf and spa resort overlooking the River Clyde. Set within 240 acres of woodland, the hotel is a countryside escape surrounded by manicured gardens and the deer-studded Kilpatrick Hills.

Mar Hall was built in the early 19th century after a Scottish lord decided to create the house of his dreams. The neo-Gothic mansion of turrets and arches was designed by the same architect who oversaw the British Museum.

Mar Hall offers an 18-hole championship golf course, a spa, a swimming pool and a range of dining options. The hotel is just a 10-minute drive from Glasgow International Airport.

Mar Hall has 53 bedrooms and suites that are all individually styled, with the main focus being your comfort. You can dine by chandelier light while enjoying gourmet food by an award-winning chef. The Cristal’s menu serves fresh, seasonal, contemporary dishes creatively presented on the plate. Scottish produce is the focus here, with everything sourced from specialist suppliers. The menu changes regularly but typical dishes might include Organic Shetland Salmon Fillet, Loin of Perthshire Lamb and Ayrshire Chicken Breast. The mahogany-lined Spike Bar stocks a selection of single malt whiskies and is ideal for relaxing with a pre or post-dinner drink. The hotel also offers a Scottish afternoon tea with elegant pastries and champagne.

You might want to play a round or two of golf on the Earl of Mar course, explore the nearby riverbanks and woodlands, or hike the Kilpatrick Hills.

The bonny banks of Loch Lomond are a 30 minute drive away and you can stop off for a shop at Loch Lomond Shores. Auchentoshan Distillery is also nearby and offers tasting tours. If you like history, you’ll enjoy exploring Dumbarton Castle, Paisley Abbey and the Scottish Maritime Museum.
