    ,   Reviewed 20/03/2019

Only an hour and a half from Glasgow and Edinburgh, Killin is where the mountains meet the loch.

Situated at the west end of Loch Tay and centred around the scenic Falls of Dochart, it is arguably the most picturesque village in Scotland.

Killin Hotel is a great base from which to explore the region.

The hotel has built a reputation on a friendly welcome, relaxed service, great Scottish food and comfortable bedrooms.

Bedrooms at Killin Hotel

Killin Hotel has 35 en-suite bedrooms. All rooms have en-suite facilities, a colour tv and a hot drinks tray. As well as a selection of twin, double, single and family rooms, the Killin Hotel also hosts two romantic four poster bedrooms, ideal for a special anniversary or secret getaway. There are also five Annex Rooms directly next to the hotel offering slightly cheaper accommodation.

Dogs are permitted in all rooms at an additional charge of £7.50 per stay.

The Killin Hotel serves food from 12 noon until 10pm and boasts a choice of food venues.

Their Tartan room has picturesque views of the river Lochay and Munros beyond and serves an a la carte menu between 6.30pm to 8.45pm created using the finest local ingredients.

Dishes on the menu may include Perthshire lamb shank casserole served on a bed of mashed potatoes or oven baked west coast salmon in a three mustard sauce with crushed chive potatoes and seasonal vegetables.

The hotel’s conservatory serves a bar menu of dishes like bangers and mash, burgers, and steak pie.

The Killin Hotel carefully selects its food suppliers, and fresh local fish, seafood and shellfish is delivered to the hotel daily, along with Perthshire beef and lamb.
A children’s menu is also served.
