Fresh and local cuisine

The hotel’s Edina’s Kitchen restaurant crafts traditional Scottish dishes from the best fresh and local ingredients.

The a la carte menu will change seasonally, but sample starters might include the chicken liver pate with toasted brioche & onion marmalade, the oak-smoked Scottish salmon with pickled cauliflower, caper berries and horseradish creme fraiche, and the Isle of Mull cheddar cheese souffle.

Mains might feature the roast chicken with pomme chateau, butternut squash, glazed vegetables and rosemary jus, the North Atlantic cod with herb & mustard infused mash and butter cream sauce, and for vegetarians, the potato gnocchi with forest mushrooms and baby spinach.

If you have room for dessert, you might want to try treats like the apple & plum crumble with vanilla ice cream, the lemon tart and orange sorbet, and the pastel de nata with red berry coulis and strawberry ice cream.

Ramble around Loch Rannoch

The Dunalastair is in the heart of Perthshire, with plenty of opportunities for exploring the surrounding countryside. For instance, you could hike the Loch Rannoch Clan Trail or picnic on one of the sandy beaches of the north shore. You can also fish, hire a bike or play a round of golf at The Loch Rannoch Highland Club. Nearby Tay Forest Park is also fascinating to explore and the pretty town of Pitlochry is less than a half hour drive away.
