Atholl Arms Hotel

Originally a Georgian mansion house, Atholl Arms Hotel offers charming rooms and award-winning dining on Bridgehead in the conservation village of Dunkeld, Perthshire. At the head of the five arched bridge over the River Tay, the south-facing hotel has a very attractive riverside location which the Terrace and beer garden make the most of.

Rooms with character

Atholl Arms Hotel has seventeen, cosy, ensuite rooms, all tastefully decorated in keeping with the Georgian character of the building. Several of the rooms have river views. For an extra special occasion, there is the Victoria suite which has three huge windows with views of the River Tay and Birnam Hill; two seating areas, a king bed and marble fireplace.

A mix of singles, doubles, twin and family rooms, facilities include free WiFi, flat screen TV, tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer, direct dial telephone and guest parking.

Fresh and local

Both the hotel’s RiverView Restaurant and the Meeting Place Bar and Bistro use locally sourced ingredients to create seasonal menus. The kitchen has won several awards and can take any dietary requests in their stride. There is a separate vegetarian menu.

Sample dishes on the restaurant menu might be a starter of smoked haddock fishcake with a poached, free range egg and Cullen skink sauce followed by the braised scotch beef blade with a Speyside haggis bon bon, roast onion, creamed mash potato and peppercorn sauce.

As well as the house burgers and made-to-order, stone baked pizza, the bar and bistro menu includes gourmet sandwiches, salads and bar classics such as beef and ale pie or beer-battered fish ‘n’ chips. The bar menu is served on the Terrace.
