The town is also at the edge of the sand-carpeted Culbin Forest, which stretches all the way to Findhorn Bay. This wildlife-rich area includes the RSPB Culbin Sands Nature Reserve.

If you are a history fan, then castles like Cawdor and Brodie are both within easy reach. You could also spend the day exploring the Morayshire towns of Forres, Fortrose and Findhorn, or head to Inverness, about a half hour drive away.
