The Onich Hotel & Lochside Gardens is a tranquil escape overlooking a pebbled beach on Loch Linnhe. The hotel offers two very distinct experiences — either a comfy stay in the main residence itself or a more rustic adventure in a deluxe heated beach pod.

Whichever you choose, you can make the most of awe-inspiring views towards Glencoe in the east and the Isle of Mull in the west, all while surrounded by landscaped gardens.

Guests can either dine in the seafood restaurant or enjoy a pub meal in the Selladh na Mara (‘sea view’) lounge bar. In finer weather, you can drink and dine on the decking area and beer gardens. There is also a games room with darts, a pool table and TVs.

In the mornings, the restaurant serves a choice of cooked or continental breakfasts.

Bright and relaxing guest rooms

In the main hotel, all of the ensuite guest rooms are cheerful, individually decorated and furnished to a high standard. Each offers a lovely haven for unwinding in after a day of exploring Lochaber and beyond. Facilities include a TV, free WiFi, phone, hospitality tray, hairdryer and room service.

The majority of the rooms have loch-views, while refurbished superior rooms also boast a private balcony where you can toast the sunset with a glass of fizz.

Fully serviced, deluxe beach pods

Guests who would like to be closer to nature can stay in a quirky heated beach pod in the hotel’s gardens. Each of the fresh and comfy pods has its own private deck overlooking what might just be the best view in Scotland — the glassy loch with its mountain backdrop.
Each of these cute little wooden escapes is fully serviced with daily housekeeping providing towels and bedding. They all include a double bed, sofa bed, kitchenette with two-hob cooker and bathroom with shower facilities. For a supplement, you can also enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

Wander around the West Highlands

Activities at Loch Linne include fishing, sailing, kayaking, hiking and winter sports, plus golf fans can head to the nearby Dragon’s Tooth course. You will also be right in the heart of nature, so keep your eyes peeled for golden eagles, seals, seabirds, porpoises and dolphins.

Other attractions include Ben Nevis Distillery, Neptune’s Staircase and the ruins of Inverlochy Castle. Fort William is handy for shopping, plus you’ll be at the Gateway to the Glen Nevis Valley, home of Steall Falls.
