McInnes House Hotel & Garden Cabins

Refurbished rooms

McInnes House Hotel has recently refurbished all nine of its ensuite rooms, which are now decorated in an airy, modern style with a distinctly Highland twist.

Beds have the perk of brand new Egyptian cotton sheets to help you get a good night’s rest. Other features include a desk, tea and coffee maker, air conditioning, fresh towels, free WiFi and a TV with cable channels.

Hairdryers and irons with boards can be provided on request.

Relaxing dining

The restaurant at McInnes House Hotel has been freshly decorated with contemporary furnishings. The bonus of an open fire makes it a cosy spot to enjoy the specially selected, hand-cooked menu.

Dishes can shift with the seasons, but sample starters might include the chicken liver parfait with marmalade, toasted brioche and house dressed leaves, the haggis bon bons with peppercorn sauce, and the mozzarella sticks with spicy relish and salad.

Mains might include the sirloin steak & chips with mushrooms and onions plus a choice of peppercorn or Diane sauce, the Thai red Chicken curry with boiled rice or chips, and the scampi & chips with mushy peas and tartar sauce. Desserts might include warm sticky toffee pudding, Eton mess and lemon cheesecake.

Afterwards, you can relax in the bar and enjoy the hotel’s hand-picked selection of fine whisky, wines and gins, plus a range of cocktails.

Cosy self-catering cabins

Within the hotel grounds, you’ll find four wonderful little garden cabins, offering a cosy home from home.

These charming cabins have everything you need for a sensible and affordable stopover in the Cairngorms. Each cabin sleeps two guests in bunk beds with an ensuite bathroom and kitchen.

Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels, free wifi and parking is all included as well as an outdoor picnic area.

​McInnes House Hotel is at the heart of Cairngorms National Park, a stunning site of natural beauty covering 1,748 square miles. Activities include skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, golfing and horse riding. Handily, the hotel also offers a ski storage facility.

If you are a golfer, then Kingussie Golf Club is around a fifteen minute stroll away. You will also be within easy driving distance of the Highland Folk Museum, Highland Wildlife Park and Strathspey Steam Railway.
