Description

A luxury boutique hotel on Frederick Street, right in the centre of Edinburgh, Rabble has the ideal location for business or pleasure stays.

Rebranded and given a stylish refurbishment in 2017, Rabble is a cosmopolitan spot that enjoys very convenient travel links. Waverley train station is a short walk while the tram line and numerous bus routes are within a five minute stroll.

The hotel’s taphouse bar and grill restaurant are among its most appealing elements. Great food, innovative drinks, brewery-fresh tank beer and a welcoming, contemporary decor all make the bar and restaurant as popular with locals as it is with guests.

Cosy rooms

Each of the ten compact rooms in Rabble is kitted out with an ultra-comfortable double bed (or two single beds on request), a desk, a fully stocked Smeg fridge; Bluetooth speakers; a Nespresso machine and a plasma TV.

Whether you are preparing for an important meeting or a night out, Rabble also makes it easy for everyone to look their best. The bathrooms feature luxury Rabble body products created by Gazelli Skincare while each room is equipped with both a hairdryer and GHD hair straighteners.

Dining

Rabble’s restaurant and bar are inviting spaces for breakfast, a quick lunch, drinks or a leisurely dinner.

A glass roof and lots of vibrant green plants give the dining area an enjoyable outdoors-but-indoors feel. In the bar, a glowing wall of bottles catches the eye as do the two gleaming copper tanks which dispense fresh, unpasteurised Staropramen. Classic and modern cocktails, highballs, great wines and bespoke gin and tonics complete the picture.
The Josper and Robata grills are at the heart of the food offer here. Carefully selected meat and the finest seafood are cooked low and slow over white oak charcoal to produce signature dishes such as the 60-hour rubbed beef short rib or the grilled cod. Local produce is celebrated with options such as the Orkney steak burger or the T-bone steak from Limousin cattle reared in the Borders. Vegetarian options include the black lentil dahl, salt-baked beetroots and char grilled asparagus.

Sharing platters, gourmet sandwiches, salads and Rabble’s innovative lunchbox menu complete the picture. From breakfast and brunch through working lunches and on to convivial dinners, Rabble’s chefs have a dish for every diner and all times of day.

See and do

The National Portrait Gallery is just around the corner from Rabble and the boutique shops of George Street and Multrees Walk are a five minute walk – even when laden with bags. From the Castle to Princes Street Gardens via the Botanic Gardens, most of Edinburgh’s most popular attractions are within a twenty minute walk. More far-flung attractions – such as the Royal Yacht Britannia in Leith – are easily accessible by public transport.
