Norton House Hotel

Just a twenty minute drive from Edinburgh city centre, The Norton House Hotel & Spa is set in 55 acres of its own grounds and has a charming country house hotel feel.

Originally owned by the Ushers, the family behind Glenlivet Whisky and the Ushers Brewery, Norton House still has the appearance of a private country home. But just like one of the family’s finest malts, the hotel has improved with age, artfully combining historic features with stylish decor, advanced business technology and state of the art surroundings.

Bedrooms

Norton House Hotel is home to 83 bedrooms designed in a mixture of traditional and contemporary. The bedrooms in the main house have original suites, period features, and panoramic views. The executive bedrooms and suites in the west wing have more modern offerings. Each room in the hotel has wifi, 24 room service, deep baths with hand picked toiletries and a library of classic DVDs.

Dining

The Brasserie is the Norton House Hotel’s stylish restaurant which serves a wide selection of dishes.

The menu includes a variety of specialist main courses such as slow cooked belly of pork with savoy cabbage, pancetta and pulled port arancini quince with toffee apple jus, or pan fried breast of guinea fowl with pommes anna, sauteed spinach, Jerusalem artichoke and cranberries.

The classics section of The Brasserie menu includes comfort food favourites such as burger and chips, fish and chips, and steak pie.

The grill section of the menu offers 8oz sirloin steak, rib-eye steak or fillet steak.

Those with a sweet tooth will delight at the dessert menu which may include treats such as dark chocolate fondant with blueberry gel, roasted banana and bayleaf ice cream, or green tea and white chocolate mousse with pomegranate and coconut foam.

The conservatory at the Norton House Hotel is a light modern space with leather seats to sink into. The Drawing Room is more traditional, with high ceilings, period features and views over the grounds. Both are ideal spaces to enjoy afternoon tea, a coffee, or a cocktail.

Spa

Sunken in the original walled garden, the spa at Norton House Hotel offers eight treatment rooms, a Rasul mud chamber, manicure and pedicure area, relaxation room and relaxation lounge.

The treatments are carried out using Elemis and Ishga, a range of organic skincare products made from Hebridean seaweed.

The hotel’s health club has a swimming pool, hydro pool, sauna and steam room, and a fitness centre equipped with Technogym equipment. The cafe bar in the fitness centre offers a space to relax and enjoy a bite to eat or a coffee.
