High Street, DG10 9HL
Originally built for the Earl of Hopetoun in the 1750s, Moffat House was designed by Robert Adams, the celebrity architect of his day.
Fast forward two and a half centuries and Moffat House Hotel retains its period charm and elegance but combines them with modern comforts and a warm welcome. Very cosy indeed should you find yourself sitting next to one of the gorgeous open fires.
Just over an hour from Glasgow and an hour and half from Edinburgh, Moffat House Hotel is just off the High Street in the Victorian spa town of Moffat.
Along with sandstone pillars and a sweeping cantilevered staircase, it features twenty, individually decorated and charming ensuite rooms.
It is the perfect setting for anyone keen to take a break from the city and relax in of Scotland’s prettiest little towns.
The well manicured and picturesque gardens mean that Moffat house Hotel is also a popular venue for weddings.
Rooms at the Moffat House Hotel range from cosy single with views of the garden or courtyard to the spacious four poster rooms. As well as double and single rooms there are premier rooms with kingsize beds and family rooms sleeping up to five.
All of the beautifully appointed bedrooms have free WiFi, satellite television channels, telephone and room service.
The Oaktree Restaurant at Moffat House Hotel is a favourite with guests and locals alike. The menus change regularly but a typical main course selection might feature choices such as the Moroccan spiced lamb tagine; the steak and red wine pie or the tiger prawn skewers. There is also a grill section of steaks, burgers and chicken.
