Dryburgh Abbey Hotel is nestled in a wooded estate on the banks of the River Tweed next to the historic Dryburgh Abbey.

It is located in a secluded part of the Scottish Borders but is only an hour away from Edinburgh and Newcastle.

Dryburgh Abbey Hotel’s bedrooms are created with the ultimate comfort in mind.

All rooms have complimentary tea, coffee and Scottish biscuits and mineral water, complimentary bathroom toiletries, a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, telephone, tv, and 24 hour complimentary wifi.

The chefs at Dryburgh Abbey Hotel create dishes on the menu which utilise the area’s bountiful local produce, with menus driven by what is available and fresh on the day.
Many of the vegetables and herbs come straight from the hotel’s walled garden, and their chefs like nothing more than foraging for what is available in the nearby woods and hedgerows.

The hotel’s Tweed restaurant has magnificent views of the gardens and the River Tweed beyond. Dinner in served in the restaurant from 6pm until 9pm. The hotel’s Abbey Bistro has a more informal setting, and serves freshly prepared dishes seven days a week from 12pm to 9pm. The Abbey Bistro also has lovely views and an outdoor patio to dine al fresco on warm days.

Please be aware that during quiet periods we may only serve dinner in the Abbey Bistro. You will be advised of this when you are making any dinner reservations.

Dryburgh Abbey Hotel also serves afternoon tea which features cakes created by their pastry chef. The treats are either freshly baked in the kitchen or sourced locally.
The hotel has several lounges to relax in by the roaring fire with a drink.

Indoor pool and sauna

Dryburgh Abbey Hotel has an indoor heated pool and sauna which is free for guests to use. Complimentary towels are provided.

There are a multitude of outdoor activities to do in the area around Dryburgh Abbey Hotel.

On the hotel’s doorstep there are a number of picturesque river, forest and woodlands treks and trails for all abilities of walkers and hikers. Also in the surrounding area are some of the best country road, off road and forest cycle routes in Scotland.

With more fish caught in its waters than any other river in Britain, and the longest salmon season in the country, keen fishermen and women can fish in the River Tweed which is world renowned for fishing.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made prior to 48 hours of the booking.  Cancellations out with this period will be non-refundable. Children under 5 stay free of charge. Children aged 6-15 charged at £25 each for B&B. 2 adults must be staying in the room before children’s rates apply. Dogs are welcome for a supplement of £10 per dog, per night. Maximum of 2 dogs per room.
