Relaxing rooms

Each of the twenty-six guest rooms at the Dumfries Arms has its own distinct look and feel. All rooms have a flat screen TV, WiFi, en suite bathroom and hot drink making facilities. Added luxuries can be found in the Superior Rooms, Deluxe Rooms and in the Lennox Suite, which has a separate lounge, jacuzzi and four-poster bed.

Comfortable restaurant

With its cosy booths, the Dumfries Arms restaurant is a spot to relax in over a hearty meal. Menus can change but mains might include slow-cooked Mediterranean lamb casserole on a bed of rice; traditional steak and ale pie with creamed mash, and crispy West Coast haddock with chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce. Vegetarians can enjoy options such as the grilled goat’s cheese and red onion filo tart. A selection of steaks and burgers are also available.

The hotel offers a choice of two bars; the lounge bar with its comfy couches and fireplace, and the chic 54 @ DA cocktail and cafe bar. A selection of over eighty Scottish whiskies are served, plus vodkas and gins.

The Dumfries Arms is a great spot for exploring Ayrshire. If you are a golf enthusiast, you can take your pick from almost fifty courses, including Open Championship greens. History lovers will be kept busy exploring the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, the 18th century Dumfries House and the fairytale Culzean Castle. Ayr Racecourse makes for a fun day out and A. D. Rattray’s Whisky Experience is around a 45-minute drive away.
