The Royal Marine Hotel Dunoon

Originally dating back to 1856, The Royal Marine Hotel in Dunoon started life as home to the exclusive Clyde Yacht Club.

The hotel continues to offer a warm and friendly welcome to travellers whether they arrive by yacht, car or train.

The Royal Marine Hotel in Dunoon has a variety of bedrooms available to suit every budget, from single rooms to premier sea view rooms.

The hotel offers 41 bedrooms, 31 of which are in the main building and 10 in the adjacent lodge.

A listed building, the hotel has a number of original features, including a wooden staircase, and antique furniture and four poster beds in many of the premier sea view rooms.

To maintain the hotel’s beauty and history, there is no lift, so guests who have mobility needs should make the hotel aware at time of booking to ensure a ground floor room in the lodge.

Despite the hotel’s charming, vintage appearance, wi-fi is available throughout the ground floor to allow guests to stay connected.

Breakfast is always included during a stay at The Royal Marine Hotel. Guests under three years old can stay free of charge and dogs are welcome at £12.50 per night with a maximum of two pets per room in one of the six designated dog friendly rooms.

Dining

The hotel’s Ghillies Café Bar has an informal style with an extensive menu of classic dishes, light meals and succulent grills, all at reasonable prices.

In the summer months al fresco dining can be enjoyed in Ghillies’ spacious garden with spectacular sea views.

The elegant Kilcreggan Room offers dining in a more formal setting with freshly cooked table d’hôte dinners.

The Royal Marine Hotel in Dunoon is located in an unspoiled area of Scotland where there are plenty of interesting walks and hiking opportunities.

With seven National Nature Reserves, Argyll and The Isles is one of the best places in Scotland to see iconic wildlife, including golden eagles, red deer, otters, seals, puffins, red squirrels, porpoises and rare white tailed sea eagles.

Golf is a major attraction as the local area boasts three golf courses including the magnificent Cowal Golf Course.

Other activities include sailing, wind surfing, clay pigeon shooting, quad biking, pleasure cruises plus trips in a high speed jet boat.
