About Loch Melfort Hotel

Loch Melfort Hotel is situated within 17 acres of gardens and beach on the coast of Argyll in the Scottish Highlands.

The hotel has sea views from every bedroom, roaring log fires to cosy up to, and spectacular coastal scenery to explore.

Loch Melfort Hotel has a variety of bedrooms to choose from.

In the Main House there are two luxury suites and three cosy main bedrooms, all of which boast stunning views.

In the Canadian lodge style Cedar Wing there are ten rooms on the ground floor, six of which are dog friendly, all of which have double patio doors with views to the sea and a terrace. On the first floor there are ten further bedrooms all of which have balconies.

Asknish Bay Restaurant within Loch Melfort Hotel is a high quality dining experience with a gorgeous view of the coast.

The restaurant priorities local produce like freshly caught langoustines, lobster and crab, Islay scallops, select cuts of meat from Airds Farm in Ardfern and game when in season.

Their food has been consistently awarded two AA Rosettes since 2000.

Guests with dietary requirements can ask the chef in advance for alternative dishes on the menu.

The hotel’s Chartroom II Bistro is a relaxed bar and restaurant that opens up onto Asknish Bay, with incredible views of the islands of Shuna and Jura.

On a sunny day guests can enjoy their food al fresco and in colder weather they can keep warm by the open fire inside.

Fresh local seafood is the focus of the menu but there are plenty of other dishes as well as home baking and drinks served from morning til night.

Child guests can be entertained by the children’s playground outside and Highland cows down the lawn, as well as the box of game and toys inside the bistro.
Local bands and musicians play live in the bistro every first and third Friday of the month.

There’s an abundance of incredible scenery and wildlife around Loch Melfort to enjoy.
The Argyll coast is a treasure trove of wildlife, flora, historical and archeological sites, mountains, lochs, coastline, islands and valleys.

The area has also walking, pony trekking, mountain biking, sailing and fishing opportunities.

Those who like a dram can take advantage of how Argyll is known as the “whisky coast,” with 14 distilleries dotted along the coastline.
