Dating back to the 19th century, Arrochar Hotel started life as a coaching inn. Situated at the foot of the ‘Arrochar Alps’ on the shores of Loch Long, Arrochar Hotel is in the middle of some of Europe’s most stunning scenery.

Within easy striking distance of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park as well as the Argyll Forest Park, the Arrochar Hotel is ideal for ramblers and hill walkers – there are a number of Munros in the area.

Pet and child-friendly, the hotel is the ideal base for exploring the western highlands.

The lounge bar and conservatory look onto the loch. If the sun is shining, many guests enjoy sipping a drink on the decking at the front of the hotel and listening to the waves lapping against the shore.

Around a 36 mile drive from Glasgow, the hotel has free on-site parking. Arrochar and Tarbet train station is a little over 2km from the hotel.

A rolling refurbishment programme of the hotel is taking place over 2018.

Arrochar Hotel has 75 ensuite rooms comprising a mix of comfortable twin and doubles plus one suite. Many have loch views.

Dining at Arrochar Hotel

The dining room at the Arrochar Hotel offers magnificent views of the surrounding countryside.

The a la carte and table d’hôte menus make the most of local produce and the emphasis is on honest, hearty dishes.

In the evenings, there is regular entertainment in the bar and lounge as well as the occasional dinner dance.

See and do near Arrochar

As we mentioned, there are a number of Munros begging to be climbed as well as more gentle loch side strolls to be had from the hotel. If you fancy bagging a Corbett rather than a Munro, walking routes to the twin-peaked Cobbler start just outside the hotel.

For hardcore thrill-seekers, Loch Long is renowned for wreck diving.

The nearby Blairvadach Outdoor Education Centre also offers a range of land and water-based activities, from rock climbing to kayaking. Packed lunches and local walking maps are available at the hotel.

Loch Lomond is a short drive away if you fancy a cruise on the loch.

Alternatively, guests can simply relax with a book in the lounge bar or just admire the magnificent loch views.
