Meldrum House in Aberdeenshire is an award-winning country house hotel set in a 13th century Baronial mansion. Guests can make the most of the 240 acres of beautiful parkland estate encompassing a golf course, gardens and woodlands.

In 2019, Meldrum House was shortlisted for Hotel of the Year by Society magazine. What’s more, its Pineapple restaurant has two AA Rosettes and previously won Hotel Restaurant of the Year.

Another award winner is the hotel’s Cave Bar, an atmospheric hideaway that dates all the way back to the 13th century.

Meldrum House offers a range of ensuite guest rooms decorated in various styles, from classic Baronial to contemporary Scottish. Rooms are based in three different parts of the hotel: the Manor House, The Stables and New Wing.

Although individual facilities can vary, all rooms have a TV, free WiFi and tea & coffee making facilities.

Upgraded options include the Club Rooms in the New Wing, which have floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the golf club and countryside beyond. Estate King rooms offer a king-sized bed, bathrobes, complimentary toiletries and a flat-screen TV.

Esteemed cuisine

The hotel’s Two AA Rosette restaurant serves up a range of fresh and seasonal Scottish dishes.

Sample choices include venison loin; scallops with chilli black pudding and house-smoked duck salad. Veggies can enjoys dishes like Smoked Applewood Cheddar mac ‘n’ cheese.

Desserts are on the playful side and include the Oops ‘dropped’ ice cream cone and a Hershey’s Peanut Butter Cup cheesecake.

Sightseeing near to Meldrum House

The hotel is close to a number of Aberdeenshire attractions, including Glen Garioch Distillery, Pitmedden Gardens and Fyvie Castle. If you are feeling energetic, then you can climb the nearby Bennachie hills and be treated to sweeping views. Aberdeen is around a 40-minute drive away.

Meldrum House is also close to the famous North East 250 driving route, which winds through Speyside, Cairngorms National Park and the Moray Firth.
