Book restaurants during the Edinburgh Festival

Edinburgh Festival Restaurants

As visitors from around the world flock to Scotland’s capital for the Edinburgh Festival, restaurants in the city are gearing up for their arrival. As any Edinburgh native knows, the city is completely transformed during the month of August, with heaving crowds on every street watching performers on what seems like every street corner.

It is the busiest time of the year for restaurants in the city but experience has taught them how to feed the crowds. It is also the restaurants’ opportunity to shine, to show off their best dishes to famous faces, tourists and locals alike. After all, one of the main attractions of visiting a new place is to discover its best dining spots.

Edinburgh is widely considered to be one of the top culinary cities in the world. Anyone indulging in Edinburgh Festival dining has a wealth of options to choose from, from luxury hotels to authentic ethnic eateries to casual student cafes.

Edinburgh Festival Dining

Scotland’s capital is a wonderful city all year round but something particularly special happens during the Edinburgh Festival. Restaurants become the centrepiece; the place to enjoy the buzzing atmosphere and dissect the shows you saw during the day while making your plans for tomorrow. At 5pm we want you to make the most of it – while getting great value for money.

    Rabble worth a visit!

The newly refurbished Rabble is well worth a visit. The wings to start were full of flavour and the ox cheek was exceptionally tender. We also had the mackerel and lentil dahl, which was very tasty. The new decor is stunning and would definitely go back for drinks or another meal.

Suited us as able to chat and no rush to eat quickly and leave given it was. A Friday teatime.

Good value for money. Haggis balls starter tasty and pasta in mushrooms sauce with chicken and sauce nice. Not fussed for bannofee desert full off cream. Two courses would of been enough. The white wine was very palatable. Nice wee girlie tea and catch up venue. Fancy the spa next time!

    Really good!

This is a low key Italian restaurant that has a small but consistently agreeable, fairly classic menu. Service is excellent, quick, efficient, discreet, no fuss - a world away from the noisy, attention-grabbing onslaught from other,'macho', Italian food outlets. Staff are obviously well trained. They are well aware that customers are often heading to a play, film or concert nearby, so there is no uncomfortable waiting, worrying or rushing - all slick and smooth. All the food is fabulously well cooked and well presented. This restaurant perfectly hits the spot in between pedestrian cheap and cheerful pizza places and upmarket 'proper' Italian restaurants. It is good value.
