Book restaurants during the Edinburgh Festival

Edinburgh Festival Restaurants

As visitors from around the world flock to Scotland’s capital for the Edinburgh Festival, restaurants in the city are gearing up for their arrival. As any Edinburgh native knows, the city is completely transformed during the month of August, with heaving crowds on every street watching performers on what seems like every street corner.

It is the busiest time of the year for restaurants in the city but experience has taught them how to feed the crowds. It is also the restaurants’ opportunity to shine, to show off their best dishes to famous faces, tourists and locals alike. After all, one of the main attractions of visiting a new place is to discover its best dining spots.

Edinburgh is widely considered to be one of the top culinary cities in the world. Anyone indulging in Edinburgh Festival dining has a wealth of options to choose from, from luxury hotels to authentic ethnic eateries to casual student cafes.

Edinburgh Festival Dining

Scotland’s capital is a wonderful city all year round but something particularly special happens during the Edinburgh Festival. Restaurants become the centrepiece; the place to enjoy the buzzing atmosphere and dissect the shows you saw during the day while making your plans for tomorrow. At 5pm we want you to make the most of it – while getting great value for money.

    Excellent food at Elliot's

My wife went with her friend with the offer being 3 courses for 2 and a bottle of wine all for £40. What a bargain. They even managed to squeeze in a cocktail before their meal and so were unable to take advantage of the dessert menu. Staff attentive, efficient and friendly.

    Friendly staff...

Booked the Pre-Theatre meal of 2 courses and a glass of house wine. Very good value. Starter was Popcorn chicken but note it was rather spicy and had a kick. Pad Thai was delicious as was my friends burger. Definitely be back.

    Good food with superb service

Zucca is very handy for the Usher Hall and Lyceum, so eating there after 7:30pm is generally less busy and service is attentive but unobtrusive. We had one guest with food allergies that were taken fully on board, and all enjoyed a full 3 course meal, sometimes sharing courses but without any difficulty or embarrassment. Menu has plenty of fish as well as fresh pasta and excellent pizza. Wine choice is varied, good quality and not expensive. All in all a very good choice for having an informal Italian meal with friends without breaking the bank.
